James Price Point video and Exhibition

Posted on September 27th, 2011

If visitors arrived from another planet and took an overall view of our common problems, I presume they would tell us “overpopulation, lack of drinking water, lack of food, and you are ruining your own home, your planet”. Now; it would be naive to think we can do without the natural resources of our planet such as natural gas, but we must act in a sustainable way, and not succumb to greed and short sighted solutions – such as placing the world’s largest gas hub right in one of the world’s few remaining areas of wilderness. Having previously blogged about James Price Point perhaps you are already familiar with the campaign to save James Price Point and have the world’s largest gas hub built…

New Australian Landscapes and a Recent Work gallery

Posted on June 7th, 2011

New Recent Work gallery on my website, always updated with my latest image releases. Features 25 new landscapes from Australia that I have only recently developed, some of the best images from the past 7 months in Australia. Head on over to recent work and view them all (the prev/next links are at the very bottom when you view an image, a bit awkward, shall be fixed soon). Come back and comment, curios to know what you think. Here is a taste of one of the new images, Walmadan – James Price Point – as the storm hits: Many more new images to come – stay tuned to the Recent Work gallery on www.flemmingbojensen.com. Portfolio galleries I have also created two work-in-progress portfolio galleries,…

Capturing the Kimberley Coast

Posted on March 10th, 2011

Come this Saturday 12th of March True North Mark and I are flying to Broome to join up with David Bettini and Greg Munyard and do a 13 day cruise up the remarkable wilderness of the Kimberley Coast on board the True North. Pictured here is an image I captured back in November at James Price Point on the Kimberley Coast. We are venturing much further North than this to explore coastline, rivers, reefs and points I have never seen before; am awfully excited.

My waterhole Broome

Posted on December 5th, 2010

Every wanderer needs a waterhole, an oasis, occasionally. It has been a tumultuous year for this wanderer, exciting and very trying. My plan after Papua New Guinea was always just ‘get to Broome’. Papua New Guinea was the most incredible of highs, leaving me extremely happy and exhausted. As I arrived in PNG with 6-7 months of exhaustion saved up I need a waterhole and Broome is my choice. Broome has now been my home two and a half weeks. I believe it to be my sixth visit. I just love it here. It feels like a home where I can just be, feel comfortable, just be. This waterhole is presently sunny, 33-35 degrees and surprisingly not very humid yet. There are very few…

Save The Kimberley – We Need Your Help

Posted on September 15th, 2010

It is crunch time for the Kimberley in Western Australia. The Kimberley is one of the last true wilderness area and an area very dear to my heart, as are all wilderness areas. I have been to this area no less than four times and have seen more of the Kimberley than most so take it from me, this is one unique area of the world we must save. No where in the world compares. This untouched ancient landscapes is under heavy threat from politicians and mining companies. Western Australia Premier Barnett has started a process of compulsory acquisition (colonization, again, stealing the land, again) of land at James Price Point for the world’s largest gas hub. There are other options for processing the…

Help protect the pristine Kimberley

Posted on June 29th, 2010

I have blogged about James Price Point several times before, recent post from March is here. Thankfully, thanks to the campaigns to save the Kimberley and James Price Point and a recent Four Corners program on Australia’s ABC; the debate about the proposed LNG gas complex project is on again. You can watch the Four Corners show online here, highly recommended as there are some great interviews and new information. Do read Christian Fletcher’s post as well. Wilderness Society in Australia is running a new multimedia campaign, you can visit here and please support by adding a message. We are not just trying to save James Price Point, we are trying to save the entire wild pristine Kimberley area and wildlife from being destroyed…

Primary Colours at James Price Point

Posted on March 12th, 2010

Last week in Broome, Western Australia, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Nigel Gaunt of Red Dirt Photography. In his 4WD we drove one hour North of Broome on a great orange outback dirt road taking us to the beautiful James Price Point, home of untouched beautiful coastline with deep ochre red rocks. And not a soul anywhere, well actually it was quite busy today as 3 other people was in a boat fishing! I was lucky to visit this beautiful place last year as well, and get some great shots at high tide.  This time we caught James Price Point at low tide resulting in some brilliant reflections and the red rocks glowing alive at sunset. Nigel loves this place and…

James Price Point and shooting video with the Canon 5D Mk II

Posted on October 29th, 2009

Recently I finally found some time to get creative with video editing, something I have wanted to do for a very long time. The result of my video editing baby steps is just a very basic little movie of the absolutely gorgeous pristine coastline of James Price Point, Western Australia. Edited entirely in iMovie from a Canon 5D Mk II recording and featuring a few of my landscapes from James Price Point and the wonderful music of James Newton Howard from Blood Diamond soundtrack; this is Images of James Price Point: Images of James Price Point, click to see larger on Vimeo I use Vimeo.com for hosting videos although I feel out of place as Vimeo has so many extremely talented videomakers uploading absolutely…

Three Men in a Troopie

Posted on June 14th, 2009

Plans. Some say life is what happens when you are busy making other plans. I disagree. Life is simply What Happens, plans or no plans. Sometimes What Happens when you have no plans is rather incredible though. Such as Casey Smith inviting me along on his and Rod Thomas’ 12 day Cape Leveque And Karijini Photography Expedition – CAKE09 – travelling and shooting thousands of kilometres of Western Australia landscapes from Broome to Cape Leveque to Broome to Karijini National Park to Broome! So begins the tale of Three Men in a Troopie. Fellow photographers and Aussies Casey Smith and Rod Thomas and yours truly the international superstar (cough) in Casey’s Toyota Landcruiser “Troopie”. Three Men, 5 cameras, 3 tripods, swags, tents, food, drinks…
