Moods of Walmadan

Showing the pristine untouched magical beauty of Walmadan - James Price Point on the Kimberley Coast of Western Australia. James Price Point is the proposed site for the world's largest gas hub. This video is for the Environs Kimberley exhibition in Broome, Australia in October 2011. I am also entering 5 images into the exhibition. All proceeds go towards preserving James Price Point and the Kimberley.

Kimberley Tales

I had the pleasure of being onboard the True North Ultimate Kimberley 1 cruise for 13 days from 12th-25th of March 2011. Going up the West Coast of Australia, from Broome to Wyndham, exploring the most incredible river systems, gorges, islands and waterfalls. A record wet season meant a record amount of water in the rivers and waterfall, everywhere was as lush and tropical as the jungles of Borneo. As per tradition we the photographers presented a slideshow movie on the last night. This is a slightly extended version of my movie for slideshow night.

Very Large Array Timelapse Trials

I spent four days at the fascinating sometimes magical Very Large Array on the San Agustin Plains in New Mexico, USA. I captured a lot of still images and I captured my very first timelapse sequences. These are those sequences.
I had only a very cheap intervalometer bought in Thailand. It turned out to be rather useless, crashing every 5 to 10 minutes. The reason why these clips are so short! The clips also suffer from flicker, something I need to learn how to remove. But it is exiting to take my very first steps in timelapse production, very addictive.

White Sands

I had the pleasure of spending four days at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico, USA back in April 2010. On the first two days the desert was blasted by incredible strong winds - strong enough to make walking difficult and to blast sand everywhere. The amount of sand in the air made for some fantastic images at sunset as the warm orange sun caught the sand in the air.

Memories of Borneo

In June of 2009 I was working on assignment in the Southwestern part of Indonesian Borneo, near the town of Pangkalan Bun. I managed to shoot a little bit of footage and stills for myself in the town and on a trip to Tanjung Puting National Park. Thanks to my gracious employers for arranging this.
This was one mindblowing trip and I long to re-visit Borneo. The town and people of Pangkalang Bun was an incredible experience, the smiling cheerful beautiful colourful people, the smells, the sounds, the colours. Meeting the Orang Utans in the national park up close and personal was one of the most magical touching moments ever. They are so graceful, fun and intelligent and to think we may end up wiping them out is a tragedy beyond comprehension.

Children of Laos

In December 2009 I accompanied a journalist friend of mine on a job in remote East Laos. We visited very remote and poor hmong villages. Most of the children had never met a fair skinned blonde Scandinavian like myself, much less seen a camera. Very raw and wonderful emotions were captured in this incredibly beautiful part of the world.

Images of James Price Point

A short video showcasing the magical untouched James Price Point, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, just north of Broome. The video ends with 4 of my landscape images created at James Price Point.
