A study of the shadows of Papua New Guinea. Life in this paradise revolves around the moods of Mother Nature. Coral reefs ringing the islands are a source of food for people living here, but dramatic storms arrive with little warning and frequently alter lives in a heartbeat. A maelstrom of fire also lurks under the surface. Papua New Guinea is home to 80 volcanoes, many of them active, eradicating large areas of land and life with each eruption. I feel as though I have entered an undiscovered, science fiction world. -- Papua New Guinea 2010
